Vucci, who has been with the AP for almost 21 years, has covered everything from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, to the Trump presidency, to Super Bowls, to the protests following the death of George Floyd, in which his team was awarded the 2021 Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Photography. It was a situation where that vast experience absolutely does [prepare you]. To have that experience behind you sort of allows you to remain calm. It wasn't the first time I was in that situation. So I was able to keep my head, I was able to think.
