America Needs More Judges Like Judge Myers
Briefly

Recent events in North Carolina highlight the critical role of principled judges in protecting free and fair elections. Following an attempt by Republican Judge Jefferson Griffin to dismiss valid ballots for partisan reasons, Judge Richard E. Myers ruled that Griffin's actions violated the U.S. Constitution. This decision represents the importance of bipartisan judicial support for the integrity of electoral processes. Despite the polarized nature of federal courts, a consensus exists regarding the foundational principles of conducting elections fairly and ensuring all eligible votes are counted.
When judges act as partisan hacks, it is important to condemn their conduct. Just as important is lauding the Republican judges who stand up against election subversion.
A mostly bipartisan judicial consensus has long existed to protect the basic elements of free and fair elections: that elections should be conducted according to the established rules.
