Patsy Stevenson was photographed being restrained and handcuffed by police at a Clapham Common vigil for Sarah Everard. UCL student Camille Brown launched a petition urging the Mayor of London and Transport for London to introduce women-only carriages on the Tube. Brown described incidents of harassment and threats, including a friend repeatedly threatened with a knife and a schoolgirl propositioned while in uniform. Stevenson, a women's rights activist, rejected segregated carriages and labeled men as the underlying problem, suggesting a sarcastic idea of a man-only carriage. Sarah Everard's killing by serving officer Wayne Couzens sparked wider protests about women's safety.
