The CBI is establishing a new Infrastructure Working Group to support the Scottish and UK governments in enhancing infrastructure for sustainable growth. Recently appointed Chair Hazel Gulliver from ScottishPower will leverage her energy sector expertise as the group aims to drive urgent reforms amid the ongoing UK Planning & Infrastructure Bill. Michelle Ferguson of CBI Scotland highlighted the necessity for immediate action to attract investments and shape policies, emphasizing the collaborative effort of various firms to improve infrastructure while adapting to challenges like transitioning to net zero.
With bold urgent action needed to unlock investment and deliver the infrastructure our economy depends on, CBI Scotland's new Infrastructure Working Group will bring together businesses from different sectors to shape and inform policy in this area.
I am delighted to have been appointed Chair of CBI Scotland's new Infrastructure Working Group, which has been established at a critical time for Scottish infrastructure development, a key driver in the country's future economic prosperity, growth, and transition to net zero.
