UK to provide 50m of emergency aid for vulnerable Syrians
Briefly

The UK has announced a £50m humanitarian aid package for vulnerable Syrians, emphasizing support via the UN and NGOs to address critical needs within and outside Syria.
Foreign Secretary David Lammy stated that the fall of the Assad regime presents a 'once-in-a-generation chance for the people of Syria' and affirmed UK commitment to humanitarian aid and diplomatic efforts.
This weekend, UK and international partners agreed on principles to support a Syrian-led transitional political process, focused on non-sectarian governance and human rights.
About £120,000 of the UK funding will be allocated to support the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, while 30m will provide food and healthcare inside Syria.
