Zoey expressed her concern regarding the planned relocation of families, stating, "Now there's the threat of moving the families out we're concerned for our children. Every park is full of all these men just sitting around."
Councillors shared how asylum-seeking families currently in the Stanwell Hotel had successfully integrated with the local community and voiced their opposition to utilizing the hotel for adult male asylum seekers.
A Home Office spokesperson outlined the government's aim to reduce reliance on expensive hotels, noting that there were over 400 asylum hotels costing almost £9m a day, which they plan to reduce significantly.
Lorraine emphasized the impact on future generations, declaring, "We've got to think of our kids, our grandchildren, our children and their future."
