Rachel Reeves may have to find more money to fix public services, says IFS

Paul Johnson, the director of the IFS, remarked that while Reeves' budget allows for short-term public service spending increases, ongoing fiscal challenges will require more substantial future funding.

Johnson emphasized that the current plans seem to promise early splurges on public services but he doubts these will hold up against cabinet pressures, predicting quicker increases in spending might actually unfold.
