The review exposed anger over betrayal by a former business secretary during the global financial crisis and, more deeply, systemic abuse of women by male predators and their enablers, with an unsettled British role. Westminster voices have called for examination of UK institutions, including the monarchy. Sarah Owen pressed the cabinet secretary about the former prince. Mountbatten-Windsor served as trade envoy to China and Hong Kong between 2001 and 2011. A BBC investigation found Epstein's planes passed through UK airports.
