Not appropriate to take free tickets, minister says
Briefly

Housing Minister Matthew Pennycook expressed discomfort over accepting free concert tickets after the Chancellor attended a pop star's show without paying. Prime Minister backed the Chancellor's actions, adhering to established rules allowing gift acceptance if declared. Pennycook stated he had never accepted such tickets and emphasized the need for transparency. Rachel Reeves defended her ticket acceptance due to security concerns, reflecting on changes that complicate attending events without security risks. This situation highlights ongoing ethical discussions surrounding ministers' acceptance of gifts in the public eye.
I think that the important thing is that everything is declared and above board, so individual people can make their choices as to whether they think it's appropriate to take tickets on occasions.
I do now have security which means it's not as easy as it would've been in the past to just sit in a concert, although that would probably be a lot easier for everyone concerned.
