"A Reform Party councillor will face no disciplinary action despite being accused of threatening to punch a colleague "right in the jaw". Kent County Councillor Peter Osborne was the subject of a formal complaint, signed by leaders of opposition groups, concerning a message he sent last autumn. The alleged threat emerged after a video was leaked, showing Kent County Council (KCC) leader Linden Kemkaran shouting and swearing at fellow Reform members."
The Independent seeks donations to fund reporters covering reproductive rights, climate change and Big Tech while keeping reporting free of paywalls. Donations are intended to support on-the-ground journalism and make reporting available to everyone rather than behind paywalls. Kent County Councillor Peter Osborne faced a formal complaint after a leaked video showed KCC leader Linden Kemkaran shouting and swearing at Reform members. Osborne wrote on a WhatsApp group that he hoped a mole was 'a bloke so I can punch him right in the jaw.' The Press Association saw an email stating KCC will take no further action. Opposition leaders alleged breaches of the councillor code of conduct; Reform UK called the complaint vexatious and opposition leaders expressed disappointment.
