The UK has enough gas and electricity to meet demand this winter, despite Centrica reporting alarmingly low gas storage levels amid a cold snap.
Centrica's inventories fell by half since early November, and levels are a quarter below where they stood last year due to a colder winter and high global prices.
A spokesperson from No 10 stated confidence in sufficient gas supply, citing the diverse and resilient energy system while monitoring energy security closely.
Centrica CEO Chris O'Shea noted that as the UK shifts to a clean power system by 2030, energy storage will become increasingly crucial.
