MP facing sex assault charges given trial date

Central Suffolk and North Ipswich MP Patrick Spencer faces allegations of sexually assaulting two women at The Groucho Club in Soho on 12 August 2023. Spencer entered not guilty pleas during a pre-trial hearing at Southwark Crown Court. A trial has been scheduled to begin on 13 July 2026 and is expected to last about a week. He was granted unconditional bail and has since had the Conservative whip removed, currently serving as an independent MP.
