According to research by Chris Hanretty, Keir Starmer ranks as more rightwing than almost all of his 401 Labour colleagues, reflecting a notable shift in his political positioning.
The study shows that Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch is situated to the right within her party, aligning her political views closer to Nigel Farage than those of her fellow Conservative MPs.
Hanretty noted that traditionally, prime ministers have maintained a central location compared to their party members, highlighting the political landscapes individual leaders operate within.
Starmer's score of 48 places him roughly at the center of the House of Commons but indicates a slight ideological drift to the right compared to his party.
