"Sometimes the left of Scottish politics can feel like a crowded place. You have the SNP, Labour and the Scottish Greens all claiming to be the natural home for voters who are that way inclined. And that's before you even get into a variety of smaller parties. And now there's (potentially) a new player on the scene Jeremy Corbyn's latest project."
"That's a difficult assessment to make at this point. We don't have any Scotland specific polling on how Your Party is being received by the public here. A couple of Britain-wide polls have put support for the new project at 6% and 4%. That's hardly a political earthquake, but it does show the party is making some sort of impact."
Jeremy Corbyn has launched a new left‑wing project currently called Your Party, supported by former Labour MP Zarah Sultana. Corbyn visited Glasgow and joined striking workers, drawing local enthusiasm. Britain‑wide polls have placed support for the project at roughly 4–6%, with higher results when pollsters use the vaguer label "a new left‑wing party". No Scotland‑specific polling is yet available to predict Holyrood performance. Polling expert John Curtice notes Scotland is slightly more left‑wing than England, suggesting potential scope. Pollster Mark Diffley observes Holyrood's more proportional system could create space for a radical left movement and might affect the Scottish Greens.
