Hundreds of Afghan soldiers to be allowed to relocate to UK after U-turn
Briefly

The UK government is allowing eligible Afghan special forces who fought alongside its military to resettle, after previously rejecting their applications due to poor record-keeping.
Armed forces minister Luke Pollard stated that a review found some applications of Afghan soldiers were wrongly turned down, leading to a critical failure in locating the correct paperwork.
Around 25% of rejected cases have now been overturned, based on new evidence that some soldiers had been directly paid by the UK government.
The Taliban are actively targeting Afghan soldiers who allied with the British, raising the urgency for the review and resettlement of these individuals.
