Father Ted writer Graham Linehan cleared of harassing transgender activist
"Why do you think it is acceptable to call teenagers domestic terrorists?"
""sissy porn-watching scumbag", a "groomer" and a "disgusting incel""
""repeated, abusive, unreasonable""
"He depended on his anonymity to get close to people and hurt them, and I wanted to destroy that anonymity."
Linehan appeared in person at Westminster Magistrates' Court and denied harassing Sonia Brooks on social media between 11 and 27 October and criminal damage to her mobile phone on 19 October outside the Battle of Ideas conference. Brooks had taken photographs of delegates during a speech, then approached Linehan and questioned his remarks about teenagers. A verbal exchange followed in which Linehan allegedly used insulting labels. Prosecutors said Linehan posted repeated, abusive messages online referring to Brooks as Tarquin. Linehan said trans activists made his life "hell" and described the complainant as a "young soldier" in that movement.
