"A family filmed the moment their breakfast turned to horror - when their sealed bag of Sainsbury's granola began moving with a mouse inside. College student Josie Wright returned from Sainsbury's Local in Arnos Grove, London, on Sunday November 30, when she noticed the 2.40 bag of granola she'd bought was moving. The 16-year-old initially believed there was a bug trapped inside the Raisin, Nut & Honey granola, before she claims she heard 'munching and chewing' sounds."
"When I was walking home, I didn't notice anything. I got back home, took the granola out the bag and saw it was moving and making sounds. I thought it might have been the granola setting at first so left it for five minutes but then heard munching sounds. I was trying to figure out what it was. I considered the fact it could've been a bug or something but you could hear it chewing. I immediately knew it must've been a rodent."
A sealed 1kg bag of Sainsbury's Raisin, Nut & Honey granola was observed moving while producing scratching and chewing noises. A 16-year-old college student noticed the movement after returning from Sainsbury's Local and first suspected a bug before identifying rodent chewing. Video footage shows oat clusters shifting inside the sealed packet. The family returned the product to the store and believe a baby field mouse entered the packet before it was sealed during packaging. The item did not register as heavier at checkout, prompting concern about other packets. Sainsbury's said it is urgently investigating with its supplier and has reassured the family the matter is being dealt with internally.
