Tyson Fury's many retirements explained - and what happened next
"Hi everyone, I have officially retired from boxing. There's too many b--- people in the sport. They will have to f--- someone else. Goodbye boxing."
"Just to confirm I'm not in a bad mood or anything. I've retired 1000000% no matter what ill never fight again!"
"boxing is the saddest thing I ever took part in" and "I'm the greatest, and I'm also retired."
Tyson Fury announced a return to boxing for 2026 after a year away following his second heavyweight title defeat to Oleksandr Usyk. Fury has repeatedly retired and restarted his career, sometimes within months. The first retirement occurred on Nov. 20, 2013 at age 25 after two cancelled fights with David Haye; he returned three months later on Feb. 15, 2014 with a win over Joey Abell, citing "different moods." The second retirement came Oct. 3, 2016 at age 28 after withdrawing from a rematch with Wladimir Klitschko to address mental health; he backtracked hours later.
