"Philip Ostermann and Melissa Rein Lively (r) were named on social media and in news reports in relation to the photo appeal (l) Mr Ostermann is associate director of a Munich-based private equity firm called Aequita, with offices in Tokyo and South Carolina. His work profile was taken down after he was idenitifed on social media in relation to the appeal. Ms Rein Lively, 40, is a political consultant who fought for the job of White House spokesperson for Donald Trump's second term."
"Last month Melissa posted a picture on Instagram of herself outside Sotheby's auction house on Bond Street, wearing the same outfit as the woman in the BTP photo. It is captioned: With love from London. She has since deleted her account. Mr Ostermann had been listed to speak at a private equity conference at the Syon Park stately home near Heathrow on October 14."

Officers believe the man left the UK on Tuesday 14 October and the woman on Friday 24 October and believe neither resides in the UK. Efforts continue to contact and interview them, with next investigative steps to follow. Police are in regular contact with the victim and her family. Two people named publicly are Philip Ostermann, an associate director at Munich-based private equity firm Aequita, and Melissa Rein Lively, a 40-year-old political consultant. The woman was reportedly sprayed with suspected pepper spray, racially abused and assaulted.
