Top jockey Frankie Dettori files for bankruptcy
Briefly

Jockey Frankie Dettori, after six months of attempts to resolve a tax dispute with HMRC, announced his intention to file for bankruptcy. He expressed sadness and embarrassment about the situation, urging others to manage their finances more closely. The dispute arose over denied tax deductions, and although Dettori previously had anonymity, a court ruling recently revealed his identity. Frustrated by his former advisers, he now collaborates with new advisers to rectify the financial mess and address HMRC's challenges.
For the last six months, my advisors have been working with HMRC in an attempt to find a solution to my financial situation. Regretfully, I will be filing for bankruptcy.
I am saddened and embarrassed by this outcome and would advise others to take a stronger rein over their financial matters.
A few years ago, I employed the services of professional specialist tax advisers... Years later HMRC is now challenging that structure.
My former advisers have since been dismissed. My new advisers and management team are also working closely with HMRC to resolve the matter as swiftly as possible.
