Texas dad shot British daughter after arguing about Trump, inquest hears
"A British woman was fatally shot by her dad in Texas last year after a big argument about President Trump, an inquest in the U.K. heard on Tuesday. Lucy Harrison, 23, was shot dead by her dad, Kris Harrison, at his suburban Dallas home on Jan. 10, 2025. The Cheshire Coroner's Court in England began investigating the shooting after a criminal case was not pursued by Texas authorities."
"Kris Harrison did not attend the hearing but wrote a statement to the court claiming he'd had an alcohol relapse on the day of the shooting and drank a bottle of wine. He added that a TV segment about gun crime prompted him to show his daughter his handgun, which he'd kept in a bedside cabinet. As I lifted the gun to show her I suddenly heard a loud bang. I did not understand what had happened. Lucy immediately fell, the statement read."
Lucy Harrison, 23, was shot dead by her father, Kris Harrison, at his suburban Dallas home on Jan. 10, 2025, after an argument about President Trump. Her boyfriend, Sam Littler, said he had traveled with her to Prosper, Texas, and that the pair argued that morning, after which Lucy ran upstairs upset. Shortly before a planned flight, Littler heard a loud bang from a bedroom; he found Lucy lying on the floor near the bathroom entrance while Kris screamed. Kris wrote that he had relapsed on alcohol, drank a bottle of wine, and that showing his handgun after seeing a TV segment led to a sudden bang. The coroner will deliver conclusions on Wednesday.
