Scotland's Deputy First Minister has revealed he previously tried to leave the Scottish Government, but Nicola Sturgeon wouldn't countenance his offers.John Swinney said he offered to leave Government in 2016 and 2021, and that he also came incredibly close to resigning over the controversial system of exam moderation in 2020 during the pandemic.
