"Getty Images Six firefighters have been injured after two fire engines they were travelling in collided in north London, the London Fire Brigade (LFB) has said. The incident happened at about 22:17 GMT on Saturday at the junction of Farringdon Road on Clerkenwell Road. LFB assistant commissioner Pat Goulbourne said the fire engines were both responding to an incident in Islington which has been resolved."

Two London Fire Brigade fire engines collided in north London at about 22:17 GMT on Saturday at the junction of Farringdon Road and Clerkenwell Road while responding to an incident in Islington. Six firefighters were injured in the collision. Six crew members received treatment at the scene from the London Ambulance Service and were then taken to hospital. The original Islington incident has been resolved. The London Fire Brigade and the Metropolitan Police have opened an investigation into the circumstances of the collision and the injuries sustained by the crew.
