Youths tore down metal entrance barriers at Hyde Park Winter Wonderland and chased a young male, flinging themselves over barriers to reach him. The young man fell backwards onto a group of people and was punched and struck repeatedly by multiple attackers while bystanders, including teenage girls, cowered. Police sirens arrived minutes after the brawl began and officers equipped with Taser stun guns confronted some youths, shouting "Everybody go home!" Some participants fled while others were cornered with weapons pointed at them. The event, drawing around three million visits and generating significant revenue, has faced criticism for overcrowding and complaints.
