James Gathercole, 40, exposed himself and masturbated on multiple South London trains, staring at a lone woman before fully exposing himself on a London to East Grinstead service. Officers found him asleep aboard the train at East Grinstead and arrested him. Checks revealed he had breached a 10-year sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) and licence conditions after release from prison 12 days earlier. He had been jailed previously for two exposure incidents on 26 May 2024 and received a 10-year SHPO banning travel on public transport without valid payment and contact with lone women. He was sentenced to two years and four months.
