Robber jailed for murder over stolen BMW motorbike
"Rico Andrews, 21, was killed in Battersea on 5 October 2023 in a row over a stolen BMW motorbike. Joshua Eno, 25, was sentenced for his murder by Judge Philip Katz KC at the Old Bailey on Thursday, having been convicted last month following a retrial. He had previously been convicted of robbery alongside Tyrone Attwood. During the trial, the court was told a shout of "that's karma" was heard as Eno fled the scene on the back of a moped driven by Attwood."
"Prosecution barrister Brian O'Neill KC said the motorbike was then stolen from where Eno and Attwood had parked it following the robbery. "Believing Rico Andrews had stolen it from them, they sought him out and went to confront him," Mr O'Neill told the jury. "In the course of that confrontation, Joshua Eno produced a firearm and shot Rico Andrews in the chest at point-blank range." Mr Andrews was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency services."
"Giving evidence, Eno told the court that losing a stolen motorbike was an "occupational hazard" of being a robber. He claimed Mr Andrews had accidentally shot himself with his own gun in the struggle. Eno was arrested outside a probation office days later, with a large hunting knife found in the waistband of his trousers. Neither the gun nor the stolen motorbike - valued at 19,000 - were ever recovered."

Believing Andrews had taken it, they sought him out; Eno produced a firearm and shot Andrews in the chest at point-blank range. Andrews was pronounced dead at the scene. Eno was convicted following a retrial and jailed for life with a minimum term of 30 years. Neither the gun nor the stolen motorbike were recovered.
