"That motorbike had been stolen from where they had parked it following the robbery. Believing Rico Andrews had stolen it from them, they sought him out and went to confront him. In the course of that confrontation, Joshua Eno produced a firearm and shot Rico Andrews in the chest at point-blank range."
"He denied murder, claiming the victim was accidentally shot with his own gun in a struggle. He told the court that losing a stolen motorbike was an "occupational hazard" of being a robber and the gun went off in Mr Andrews' hand."
"A shout of "that's karma" was heard as he fled on the back of a moped driven by fellow robber Tyrone Attwood."
Joshua Eno shot Rico Andrews, 21, in the chest at point-blank range in Battersea on 5 October 2023 during a confrontation over a stolen BMW motorbike. Eno and Tyrone Attwood had taken the BMW earlier from the BMW Battersea dealership and believed Andrews had stolen it, prompting them to seek him out. A shout of "that's karma" was heard as Eno fled on the back of a moped driven by Attwood. Emergency services pronounced Andrews dead at the scene. Eno was convicted of murder at retrial; Attwood was convicted of robbery and acquitted of murder and is serving seven years. Eno was later arrested outside a probation office with a large hunting knife, admitted possessing the knife, and also admitted theft of a Harley Davidson motorbike the same day. Eno denied murder, claiming the gun discharged in a struggle; the firearm and the stolen BMW were not recovered. Andrews had a folding pocket knife and was linked by DNA to another Rambo knife found nearby. Sentencing for Eno was adjourned until 6 October.
