Quentin Willson rose to prominence as a used-car expert and presenter on Top Gear in the 1990s and later hosted Fifth Gear. He co-founded FairFuelUK to advocate lower fuel taxes and credited the group with saving British motorists £100 billion in duty increases. He championed electric vehicles early, supporting GM's EV1, produced EV road trips and reviews on YouTube, and later left FairFuelUK after accusing it of promoting discredited myths about EVs. He criticized politicization of electrification and defended technological progress in batteries. He died at 68 after a short battle with lung cancer.
