"The search for evidence of alleged misconduct in public office at the former Windsor home of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is expected to continue over the weekend, police have said. The former prince was arrested on Thursday as part of an investigation by Thames Valley police into claims he gave the convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein confidential information while serving as a British trade envoy. Searches at two sites started on Thursday morning."
"Mountbatten-Windsor spent 11 hours in a Norfolk police station on Thursday, his 66th birthday, during which his mugshot was taken. Police were given the power to search an address in Norfolk and one in Windsor as part of their investigation into the king's brother, after applying to a magistrates court for a warrant, the force confirmed. Detectives are yet to take formal early investigative advice from the Crown Prosecution Service, a spokesperson for the service said. Mountbatten-Windsor was released on Thursday evening under investigation, which means there are no restrictions on his freedom. He could not be contacted for comment but has in the past denied wrongdoing in relation to Epstein."
Searches at Royal Lodge, Windsor, entered a third day as detectives continued to seek evidence of alleged misconduct in public office linked to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Thames Valley police arrested him on Thursday while investigating claims he provided convicted offender Jeffrey Epstein with confidential information during his tenure as a British trade envoy. Searches also took place at his current Sandringham home, with items removed for examination. He spent 11 hours in custody, had a mugshot taken, and was released under investigation. Detectives have not yet taken formal early advice from the Crown Prosecution Service, delaying any charging decision.
