Birmingham City has unveiled the 62,000-capacity Birmingham City Powerhouse in Bordesley Green as the centrepiece of a multi-billion-pound Sports Quarter redevelopment. The stadium features twelve chimneys reflecting a former brickworks, a retractable roof, a moveable pitch and a steep-bowl design intended to amplify match-day atmosphere. Internal markets, cafés, restaurants and play areas are integrated within the ground, with one chimney tower housing a lift to a city-view bar. The club targets completion for the 2030/2031 season. The project sits on a 48-acre former motorsport site and includes housing, hotels, recreational green space, and major transport and investment commitments.
