"A 23-year-old man who was stabbed to death in Lewisham on New Year's Eve has been named by police as John Temitope Onetufo. Officers were called at around 12.35pm on Wednesday, December 31 following reports of a stabbing in Grove Street. Upon arrival at the scene, police found Mr Onetufo, from Deptford, who was treated for a stab wound to the chest. Despite the efforts of paramedics, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene."

John Temitope Onetufo, aged 23, was fatally stabbed in Grove Street, Lewisham at around 12.35pm on December 31. Emergency services treated him for a chest stab wound but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Specialist officers are supporting his family. A 17-year-old boy and a 23-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of murder on January 2 and remain in police custody. Detective Chief Inspector Samantha Townsend is leading the investigation, confirmed two arrests, described the development as significant, and extended sympathies to the family.
