Spencer Duarte, 28, was convicted for stealing a phone in London after leaving one of his trainers behind during the theft. Tackled by the public, he managed to escape, but police later matched DNA from the trainer to Duarte through national records. Captured on CCTV, his eventual identification led to his court appearance at Inner London Crown, where he admitted to the crime. Sentencing is scheduled for September, highlighting the effectiveness of forensic evidence in solving theft cases.
