Berthia and Romuald Williams, elderly residents facing eviction from their Finchley Road home, received a temporary accommodation offer from Denise Balban in Kent after their story was covered in the Ham&High. Despite her generous offer of up to six months of free housing in her caravan, the couple expressed concerns about the difficulties of commuting and their ongoing need for care. With the looming eviction deadline of March 14, they await a response from the council, feeling uncertain and in limbo regarding their future housing situation.
After reading about Berthia and Romuald Williams' eviction plight in the Ham&High, Denise Balban offered them a temporary accommodation in Kent.
Denise Balban mentioned, 'I'm in Kent, so it's not ideal, but might help' adding that her caravan would give them some peace in the countryside.
Berthia expressed gratitude for the offer, stating, 'Kent is out of the way for me and I have to work' complicating the potential move.
Romauld acknowledged the kindness but stressed, 'Kent is out of the way for us' highlighting practical challenges in commuting from their potential new location.
