A section of the A2 highway will undergo closure for two weeks starting on or after March 24, 2025, to install a new Toucan crossing aimed at improving road safety. The road closure, part of a collaboration between National Highways Limited and Kent County Council, will occur overnight from 8pm to 6am. Traffic will be diverted through alternative routes, and the closure will be marked with signs. This project not only focuses on enhancing pedestrian safety but is also part of a larger initiative to keep the community informed through the Public Notice Portal.
A section of the A2 will close overnight for two weeks for Toucan crossing installation, affecting traffic routes and ensuring road safety during the works.
Traffic will be rerouted via A2260, A226, and B262 as the A2 closure is enforced starting March 24, 2025, to facilitate the new crossing.
The scheme, joint-funded by National Highways Limited and Kent County Council, aims to enhance pedestrian safety through the installation of a new crossing.
The Public Notice Portal, operated by the News Media Association, offers a reliable resource for locals looking for planning applications and road closures.
