Drina Gray, a 52-year-old woman from Wandsworth, was sentenced to three years and four months for a campaign of harassment against her neighboring couple. The Kingston upon Thames Crown Court heard how Gray's actions left her victims, Ben and Emma, feeling trapped and terrified in their own home. Gray repeatedly damaged the couple's property and made severe threats, ultimately causing Ben to suffer from anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts. The judge emphasized that her drinking exacerbated her behavior but did not excuse it. Following the sentencing, the victims expressed their relief and felt validated in their struggle against the harassment.
You made lives of your neighbours hell. You persistently harassed them morning, noon and night. Despite orders being obtained to seek to prevent you from behaving in the way you did, you continued in your campaign.
It may well be you were under influence of alcohol but that is not an excuse, that is an aggravation, and it is no consolation at all to the people you were threatening with extreme violence.
Ben reported feeling terrified by the threats, experiencing suicidal thoughts, and ultimately losing his peace of mind, health, and job as a result of the harassment.
