Eve Stratford, a 22-year-old Playboy bunny, was brutally murdered in March 1975, her case still unsolved after fifty years. Friends like Sheen Doran, also a former bunny, remember her fondly and emphasize the bond they shared during their time at the Playboy Club. Stratford’s murder, which occurred shortly after she became Mayfair magazine's 'Girl of the Month', is believed to be related to the murder of schoolgirl Lynne Weedon six months later, as DNA evidence linked the two cases in 2004, leaving both unresolved.
Miss Stratford had started work at the Playboy club in 1973, and Ms Doran in 1974. 'It was very good money, but very hard work.'
'Her boyfriend was a singer and we used to go the Royal Standard in Walthamstow to support him.' Ms Doran recalls their friendship fondly.
Police later concluded that the magazine cover had likely enticed her killer. 'I was with another bunny friend when we saw the Evening Standard poster saying 'Bunny Girl Dead'.
The murders were linked in 2004 after matching DNA was found on the victims, with neither case ever being closed.
