
"Officers were called to Grove Street in Lewisham at around 12.35pm on New Year's Eve, following reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, a 23-year-old man was found with a stab wound to the chest. He was treated by London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance. Despite the best efforts of paramedics and medical staff, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene."
"His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. No arrests have yet been made and officers continue to make enquiries. Detective Chief Inspector Sam Townsend, who is leading the investigation said: Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with the victim's family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. Our investigation is progressing swiftly as we work to establish the full circumstances surrounding this tragic incident."
