PC Elvis Moreira, a Met Police officer, was dismissed for engaging in inappropriate sexual communication with an 11-year-old child between 2019 and 2020. Following reports in September 2023, an investigation revealed gross misconduct, which did not meet the criminal threshold but breached professional standards. Chief Superintendent Jill Horsfall condemned Moreira's actions as repugnant, emphasizing a commitment to high standards. He is now placed on a barred list preventing future employment in policing and related roles, underscoring the seriousness of his misconduct.
PC Elvis Moreira's behavior was repugnant and fell very far below the high standards we expect of our officers.
The grooming allegations were reported to Thames Valley Police in September 2023 and an immediate investigation was launched.
The allegations were found to be proven at the level of gross misconduct and that PC Moreira had breached standards of professional behaviour in relation to discreditable conduct.
PC Moreira will now be put on the barred list held by the College of Policing, preventing future employment in policing.
