Met officer charged with four counts of rape

PC Robert Wing, 57, of Waltham Forest, north-east London, has been charged with four counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault by penetration and one count of sexual assault for alleged incidents between 2011 and 2016. The officer is attached to the Specialist Operations unit and appeared briefly at Westminster Magistrates' Court to confirm his name, age and address without entering pleas. He was arrested on 1 March 2023 on suspicion of rape and suspended from the Metropolitan Police. The force's Directorate of Professional Standards was notified. PC Wing was granted bail to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 24 September.
