The pair were the first convictions under the National Security Act 2023. Four others received sentences of eight to ten years for streaming the attack, setting the buildings alight, arranging the getaway car, and failing to report plans. The Ukrainian-owned warehouse stored goods for Ukraine, including Starlink terminals; eight fire crews and 60 firefighters were needed to control the blaze. Earl was offered 9,000 but was paid less after acting early, and he had plotted to kidnap a wealthy Russian dissident.
