Meghan Markle and Prince Harry initially faced intense scrutiny from the paparazzi upon moving to the US, as photographers scrambled to capture their new life. Veteran paparazzo Mark Karloff noted that while interest was extremely high in 2020, the demand for their images has since plummeted. He described how they staged events and photo ops early on and suggested that Meghan seeks more control over their public presence. Nowadays, photographers are less aggressive, waiting for rare opportunities rather than actively pursuing them due to decreased public interest.
When Harry and Meghan first came here, it was a mad scramble to find where they were staying, and it was every photographer in LA trying to find out every secret.
Ultimately, they can't hide forever, so there are opportunities to get them, but I think they want control, Meghan especially.
In the US, and in my experience, it has died down a lot. Now they aren't worth the hassle, and the payday isn't the same.
At the same time, they were running around doing mock photo ops, they were doing setups, they would pop up and be doing some charity work.
