Man dies in hospital 11 days after Camden stabbing as police launch murder probe
"My thoughts remain with Suleyman's family and friends at this unimaginably difficult time. I am aware of concerns in the local community, but I would like to reassure people that this is believed to have been an isolated incident and there is no information at this time to suggest this was a racially-motivated attack. We have increased patrols in the local area and I would ask anyone with concerns to speak to my officers."
"A 21-year-old man has already been charged with attempted murder in connection with this incident. I want to express my thanks to the first responders, who were on the scene within minutes, and the members of the public who did everything they could to save Suleyman's life. Their actions gave his family the opportunity to say goodbye."
Suleyman Nuh, 25, was stabbed in Alvanley Gardens, Camden, on the afternoon of 29 January and taken to hospital in critical condition. Members of the public and officers worked to stabilise him at the scene before paramedics transported him. He died on 9 February, nearly two weeks after the attack. Detectives arrested a 21-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder the following day. The Met's Major Investigation Team has taken over the case and specialist officers are supporting the family. Police say the incident is believed to be isolated with no information suggesting racial motivation and have increased local patrols. Witnesses with information or footage are asked to contact police or Crimestoppers.
