Police responded to a welfare check on an 82-year-old man at a West End Lane property in West Hampstead on Thursday morning at approximately 11:25 GMT. Upon arrival, paramedics confirmed the man had died. An arrest was made at the scene. Billy O'Reilly, aged 53 and residing at Royal Free Square in Islington, was subsequently charged with murder on Friday. He is scheduled to appear before Westminster Magistrates' Court on Saturday to face the charge.
