A disturbing incident occurred on Main Street in Millisle when a vehicle struck multiple pedestrians at approximately 11:05 PM. Two individuals sustained serious injuries and were subsequently taken to the hospital. The vehicle turned around and drove past the scene before fleeing. Authorities quickly located the vehicle and arrested a suspect on charges including attempted murder. Detective Inspector Oonagh Ryan is appealing for witnesses and relevant footage, and local MLA Connie Egan expressed concern about the incident's implications for public safety.
Detective Inspector Oonagh Ryan said: "It was reported that the vehicle involved, turned around and drove past the licensed premises again before making off from the scene. "
Alliance North Down MLA Connie Egan condemned the incident and urged anyone with information to come forward to the police.
