Approximately 5,000 worshippers were inside during Ramadan prayers when the incident occurred. Four people quickly restrained the suspect using a fire extinguisher. Police arrived with approximately 15 vehicles and evacuated all worshippers safely. The arrested man faces charges of carrying an offensive weapon and possession of class B drugs. A second man who entered with him remains at large. No threats were made and no injuries occurred. Police increased patrols in the Victoria Park area and appealed for public information.
