Lucy Letby, a nurse convicted of murdering seven infants, continues to assert her innocence. Her lawyer has submitted a report from an international panel of medical experts to the Criminal Cases Review Commission, which disputes the murders based on claims of poor medical care and natural causes. The families of the victims criticized these findings, arguing they are flawed. Additionally, a separate report suggests that the insulin tests used as evidence against Letby were unreliable, casting doubt on key trial conclusions and emphasizing the need for re-evaluation of her case.
We did not find any murders. However lawyers for the families of Letby's victims last month rubbished the international panel's findings as "full of analytical holes".
Our inescapable conclusion is that this evidence significantly undermines the validity of the assertions made about the insulin and C-peptide testing presented in court.
