Aalia Mahomed, a 20-year-old physics and philosophy student at King's College, tragically passed away after being struck by a van on March 18. The incident, which also injured two others, has elicited heartfelt tributes from the college's vice-chancellor, who expressed condolences and underscored the senselessness of the tragedy. Aalia's family requested privacy during this painful time. While a 27-year-old female student remains hospitalized in serious condition, a third individual has since been discharged. The accident is under investigation, and the college is actively supporting those affected.
A senseless tragedy struck our campus on Tuesday - a tragedy that has led to the loss of life of one of our students, Aalia Mahomed.
Words often bring little comfort at these difficult times when what has happened cannot be reversed, but I hope that in supporting our students and staff, and honouring and remembering what has been lost, we will find a way forward.
