Jury discharged in 1.38m watch robbery trial
Briefly

A jury at Woolwich Crown Court could not reach a verdict in the trial of Junior Kunu, 30, accused of conspiring in a jewellery store robbery. This event led to the tragic suicide of the store manager, Oliver White, who was assaulted during the crime. Co-defendant Mannix Pedro was convicted of the same charge. Kunu stated that the robbery was coordinated and consented to, but the harm done and loss of life raised serious moral questions regarding the case. A decision on a possible retrial is pending, with much still unresolved.
The jury deliberated for 28 hours but was unable to reach a unanimous verdict in Junior Kunu's robbery conspiracy trial, which has left his future uncertain.
Oliver White, the jewellery store manager, tragically took his life the day after the robbery, highlighting the severe impact of violent crime on victims and their families.
