Inflation fell to 8.7 per cent in April - down from 10.1 per in the previous month, official figures show.The Office for National Statistics said the drop was driven by a fall in sky-high gas and electricity costs.The fall in inflation, or rising prices, will be welcome news for households across the country struggling with the cost of living squeeze.
