PC Imran Mahmood faced a gross misconduct panel over injuries inflicted on Jordan Walker-Brown in Harringay in May 2020. A 2023 Southwark Crown Court trial found Mahmood not guilty of causing grievous bodily harm. The gross misconduct hearing was directed by the police watchdog and included senior and independent panel members. Evidence stated Mahmood and a colleague followed Walker-Brown as he ran, climbed a wheelie bin and scrambled onto a wall, when Mahmood deployed a Taser. Walker-Brown fell, hit his head on the footpath and was left paralysed. The panel concluded Mahmood believed Walker-Brown posed an immediate threat and justified his actions, while expressing regret for the injuries.
